Waste slurry is a major source of waste in oil and gas industry. It is a stable colloid suspension system containing clay, weighting materials, various chemicals, sewage, waste oil and drilling cuttings. Main components that hurts the environment are  hydrocarbons, salts, polymers, hydrocarbons, some metal ions (mercury, copper, arsenic, chromium, zinc and lead) and impurities in baritex. To prevent the environmental pollution by drilling fluid, it is a must to have treatment on it. Based on different treatment and disposal conditions, there are a number of ways of slurry treatment in domestic and abroad, including solids and liquid separation, MTC, chemical strengthened solids and liquids separation technology, mechanical dewatering, burning, spray drying, recycling ustilising method, safe field buried method, field tillage, destabilization drying field treatment, injection into safe formation or curcular space method, microbiological method and etc. Among which, curing treatment is the most popular way, that is especially for the waste slurry that is not suitable for tillage. Below are the general introduction of the drilling waste treatment technology adopted by KES energy equipments manufacturing hebei co., ltd. 




1. Drilling waste slurry solids and liquid separation system

a. transfer the slurry awaiting treatment to any partition of thinning tank by the screw conveyer or diversion groove, and then thin the slurry to the concentration of about 5%, after that, add the mixed gel breaker to the thinned slurry and mix evenly.

b. Thin the slurry, and convey the slurry mixed with gel breaker the next layer of screen through the sand pump, then separate the cuttings of size more than 40mesh in the slurry out of the tank by the shale shaker, and move to a designated position by the screw conveyor. The slurry with size less than 40 mesh goes into the desilting bin, then supply for the treatment of 6" cyclone through the sand pump, the slurry out of the bottom of the cyclone goes through the upper layer of screen drying and transfered to the screw conveyor. The slurry out of the upper mouth goes into the PAC mixing bin, at the same time PAC mixed fluid should be added and fully agitated. Once the slurry overflows to PAM mixing stock, PAM mixed fluid should be added and fully agitated, Once the slurry goes into the precipitating bin, the slurry started to be layered, the clean water will come out of the upper layer. The upper layer clean water will be reused through discharging pipe or discharge to a certain position. After underlayer mud was precipitated, it will be pumped to the decanter centrifuge by the screw pump. Before the mud goes into the centrifuge, it will goes to the tube mixer together with another PAM mixer. The mixed mud will be conveyed to the centrifuge for separation. The separated solids will discharged to the screw conveyer, and the liquid will be reused after flowing into the PAC mixed bin.

c. The thinning tank are two separated bin, firstly add the mud into the first separation bin, when the mud is under treatment, add slurry into another separation bin and thin it to a required concentration, once the mud in the first bin treated, then switched to another bin for further treatment, the process is the same.
